The explosive growth of Facebook is about to reach new heights as its membership approaches the 200 million mark -- double its volume of just six months ago.Facebook's population is the equivalent of the fifth-largest nation in the world, and my guess is that some members are using the site to organize their own military, so move over Brazil. That aside, Facebook, like Youtube and Twitter, is a burgeoning medium for word-of-mouth communications, which are increasingly dictating the mainstream media's agenda.
And, of course, the site can also be used to stay attuned to every last mundane thing your friends are doing. Excuse me while I log onto Facebook and update my status to "yawning."
